yes there was talk 1997 or 1998 about the new SLM steamers but they were not standard gauge and were not cheap. They also talked about using the 3- burner system the SLM steamers used but that is as far as it every went. As to Nigel Day's Lempor exhaust retrofits no mention of this has been discussed that I know of here at the M&PP.
