Really?? They destroyed that F&CC coach ? Another story of a "preservation" effort that got way over their heads . After seeing what a difficult undertaking it has been to keep the C&TS going over the years it is obvious to me that many well-meaning fans do not comprehend the depth and expense of steam locomotive preservation .Indeed , if historic equipment was destoyed(not as uncommon as you may think on preserved steam railroads . One tourist road in New York scrapped a steam engine !) the question is whether this group understands the concept of preservation at all.
I, for one, am glad that #69 is going home . With John Bush there ,it will return to steam .
