I finally had some time to do some research on the car in the background of the photo.
Dumping logs at Tuolumne
I will have to admit that my initial i.d. was wrong. The car is a 1952 Chevy Bel Air. This was the last year for the split windshield, and the first year for grill bullets. The 52 had 5 small bullets, which is what threw me. The 53 had 3 small bullets with signal lamps on the ends. The 54 had 5 bullets that were longer vertically.
