pedantry alert!
well, not quite right.
the first three class 60 (later c-16) engines were D&RG 22, 41 & 42
22 renum. 228 11/30/94 (???)
41 renum. 229 7/2/84
42 to SRR #100 11/2/87
five of the class 70 (later c-19) engines were rebuilt to std ga in 1888-89 then rebuilt to narrow gauge in 1898-1900 but with the numbers messed up. IE 401,402,405,410,411 became 803,800,804,801,802 became 405,401,410,411,402.
the class 70 engines transferred to the RGS (402 nee 411, 409 & 420) were transferred in 1916 whilst the big renumering took place in '24.
Narrow gauge engine classes renumbered in '24 were:
class c-19 400-410 became 340-349
class c-17 417, 421, 422, 418, 419 became 300-304
class c-17 554 & 555 became 305, 306 (the oddballs)
class c-18 425-429, 424 became 315-320
class c-21 430, 431 became 360, 361
class c-25 432 became 375
classes t-12, c-16, k-27 & k-28 not renumbered in '24.
of course this is also the same period that the c, t & k designations came in. I'm not sure wich came first, the renumbering or the new classes, but I expect the new classes since the class 70's wound up split.
