Caboose Roof?

Bill, you asked me a while back about roof alternatives for the caboose at Antonito. I recall discussion on the web recommended a product that may no longer be available. The best I can recommend in the way of modern roofing products is an adhered 60 mil EPDM roof over a layer of Grace Ice and Water Shield. That should seal the caboose right up! Both Goodyear and Firestone make quality EPDM products, and they have a flat black finish. Because the stuff is glued down, you will get good adhesion without exposed fasteners. The Ice and Water Shield is part of a belt-and-suspenders approach, but should help keep the roof intact. For the caboose, you are using such small quantities of both products, we might get the material donated by a roofer.
