The Georgetown Loop has loaned the C&TS a rebuilt auxiliary generator. The gen on 19 came up lame with bad bearings. The auxiliary generator is actually two machines, one end is the aux gen and the other end is the exciter which excites the main generator field. When not functioning the main gen will not produce power to drive the traction motors. John "Diesel Shop"
