A number of years ago I arrived at Shepscot from being earlier in the day in Rangeley and Phillips. I made my way down to 95 (the Pike) and exited at 9, crossed the river in Gardiner, and made our way to the 94. Took the 94 east to Nash Rd and followed that to 218 which takes you near the museum on Cross Rd. The interesting thing is I did all this with a primitive state map and following my nose. On the way back I think the 95 would have less traffic than the 295, for a price.
