It will definitely be disinfected. As for toxicity, I would rather not learn myself. It would probably have a high mineral content, dependent on the water source and any chemical treatment used. And the mineral content can give you the runs, if your system isn't used to it.

You could always condense the steam from the top of the boiler, just like brewing shine. That would leave most of the minerals behind. But it's still going to be tough to flavor.
