I am not an engineer but I will try and explain.
Because someone up the river dumped rock and ?? the flow during high water has changed and it now is eating away at the bank and around the cement things that hold the trestle up. They have been watching this since 2005 and have photos from then. The plan is when they can get to it they will dump large rock along the bank and also dig out all the silt to get the river to flow the way it is suppose to. If I understood right this will be done before the river starts running real hard this year. Also a couple of other small problems that they will fix with a brace or two.
Bottom Line: There is a problem and they have a plan to fix it.
