In the pictures of the K-28 "twins" built for the Oahu Railway, I think that the air compressors were on the engineer's side. They are surely not in the front or on the fireman's side in any of the the pictures that I have seen. Now if visibility was an issue on the fireman's side, I think that it would be even more critical an issue for the engineer. After all, he has both the throttle and the brakes.
