I wrote a caption for Uintah Railway Pictorial Volume II along time ago, with a "huntch". The caption is located on pg. 124 of that volume, showing several uintah cars crumpled in a canyon on the side of Baxter Pass in the snow. My assumption was that the piece inthe foreground was a tender off of a Shay, and possibly the frame of the same locomotive in the far distance, under a pine tree. I fany of you have this book, and are so inclined, could you give me your opinion of wheather this looks like a Shay tender - if they have any common characteristics, that is. Any educated guesses are welcome. or shots in the dark for that matter.
