Hi John,

Yes, I remember when Lindsey left Central. That's when Fred painted the block style C&S on the gon.

I'm very glad that Lindsey had a deep enough respect for the equipment up there to leave it in good shape.

Just a follow up to your story about the railfan.

I went up to Central to visit some old friends and wandered on to the railroad property after it was abandoned. I was looking at the C&S stuff and wondering if the original 40 lb C&S rail had been removed. I was on the platform when some guy stumbles up and looks up and down the right-of-way and looks at me and asks:

"Where's the Train, where's the Rails?"

"I guess they scrapped 'em", I replied.

"Why the Hell would they do that" the tourist countered.

I looked at him, shrugged and said "Not enough freight".

End of story.
