"The delay report shows 4 hours to the Bulkley and Horace mines and wye and yard, but the arrival and departure times add up to 3 hours and 20 minutes?

The Buckley mine was just south of Crested Butte and the Horace Mine was a couple of miles north of Crested Butte on the Anthracite branch."

For all trains the times on the train sheet are what is reported by the agent/operator to the dispatcher. The conductor times are what he shows on his delay report that he fills out while enroute and/or when tying up. At times there are variances between reporting times. In this case it may be: In that the Buckley Mine is close to Crested Butte they may have cleared that prior to arriving Crested Butte. The conductor could have considered that as arrival at Crested Butte while the agent/operator recorded the actual time the train pulled up to the depot and the conductor signed the register. Anyway, just a thought, there could be other scenarios.
