This shot, while of an ex C&S car, shows the corner brackets and queen post/lower door guides for the end truss rods. D&RG box and stock cars had a similar casting for the lower door guide. Some of the survivors in Chama still have the same casting , although the queenpost has been cut off.
This is a portion of the Ouray Photo refered to in another post which shows the truss rod.
