WW II and the Narrow Gauges

January 14, 2008 07:28PM
I know that WW II impacted the Rio Grande/RGS as traffic increased (Manhattan Project) and the U.S. Army requesitioned sp? the K-28s and other various equipment.

The White Pass & Yukon Route was leased for the duration of the conflict so the Alcan Highway could be constructed.

How were other North American narrow gauge railroads impacted, either positively or negatively, by the war effort?
