Make sure you put the D&RGW on the sunny side
I guess part of my thinking was that another use could be for potential photo specials as well. A nice 4-5 car passenger train letter D&RGW would somewhat look like the San Juan. Right now the only way to create a historic D&RGW tain on the C&TS is with freight cars, so the D&RGW lettered passenger cars might open up the possibility of some extra charters too.
Part of the problem is that when the Rio Grande sold the stuff to the states they didn't get any authentic coaches, and therefore its difficult for the C&TS to present a historic passenger train like the EBT, Nevada Northern, Sierra Railway, or even the D&S, which does have many of the original cars.
Maybe D&S would consider lettering some coaches D&RGW to show their heritage once in awhile!
The thought of those tuscan cars climbing past the yellow aspens in the fall does have a certain appeal I must admit! It would sure brighten up those C&TS brochures too wouldn't it Kim? Not that there is anything wrong with the ones now mind you.

PS What about lettering on the buildings and structures such as the water tanks! It would be very cool for the person on the train (Narrator)talking about the old Rio Grande, and riders actually SEE that lettering on some things along the ride. That would reinforce the history wouldn't it!
