Brings back lovely memories of living in Leadville in the 70's .... I was Relief Hoistman at the Black Cloud mine, and about once a week we had to go over to the Irene shaft to maintain pumps. Irene was one of our escape routes and also had pumps to keep the mine dry. I would run the beautiful old Coeur d'Alene double-drum hoist to drop the pump crew down and bring 'em back up. The Irene is at the very end of CR1 up on Ibex Hill, and shows up well in the map pic. Those were the good days.
