If my notes are right, Montrose to GJT was converted to standard in 1906. Denver would have been cut off from a "pure" D&RG routing earlier in 1890, as that's when the Denver-Pueblo dual gauge was converted to standard-only. I was going to say that you still could have probably done a DSP&P-D&RG routing until 1906, but the third rail was removed north of Hecla Jct. around 1890, I think...
