What a bunch of cry-baby whining crap! Harper is absolutely right. By comparison with Durango, Silverton has extremely few first class rooms, and that only at the single hotel in town, the Grand Imperial. If Silverton wants to capture more of the overnight business generated by the railroad then they have to provide facilities for all levels of the traveling public. That may, or may not be a good idea, depending on whether you like Silverton just as it is.
Durango is a first class modern city with all the accomodations in every price range. Silverton, as quaint and wonderful as it is, is a mining camp. Harper said as much and is crucified for telling the truth.
Rediculous.
Every once in a while, someone needs to take Silverton by the ear and remind them that they would be a ghost town if it weren't for the D&S.
