attached is a photo sent to me by someone at M&PP on the occasion of no. 4's last steamup in November 2000. The article mentions a cracked cylinder, which (if I recall correctly) is the result of water in the cylinder during operation.

I don't know if the cylinder casting is damaged, or just the head or head bolts.

M&PP operated no. 4 a couple of times each year for a mile or so, in the station area.
