Some time ago I published a picture of 491 at Cumbres. The original was a badly faded Ektachrome, and my initial attempt to restore some color was pretty primitive. That effort resulted in a number of very helpful replies, including one that will result in my sending several original faded slides to a University in Europe that is doing research into correcting damaged historic photographs....fortunately one of the folks involved is a ng. railfan. But the responses also motivated me to learn a bit more about what Photoshop could do. So here, just for the heck of it are 1) a jpeg of the original faded slide, 2)my original primitive effort, and 3) my lastest effort to correct the color. So first....what I started with in a jpeg version.
