And you're on to something as well, James -
Our railroads hauled an incredible number of tanks – and not just Shermans – during WWII, though few if any on our narrow gauge lines. I wonder how quickly we could respond to a similar situation today. It would be tough enough to re-establish all the factories, much less the steel mills, but I guess we could always get plenty of high-quality steel from China
