Right, Radar -
Not only recently, but more than once previously. How did you manage to find my other posts? I used to search for my posts by photo ID (yymmdd-frame#), but haven't been able to do that since we lost the old server and its much better (IMHO) search engine. As a thank-you for your troubles, here are some out-takes from September 13, 2008, showing that the cars have not only been in heavy service for well over ten years, but at one time were often handled in groups of not just three, but four – at least on the west side

. . . and one from four days later, 09/17/2008, this time showing loaded cars being pushed uphill

The above were all taken between the first one on your starred link above and the last one on that post, when the ruthless paparazzi of the
Ignacio Inquirer and
Tiffany Tattler were zealously pursuing rumors of a connection between JBWX-1 and the notorious painted lady, C&TS #489. The latter apparently turned green with envy a couple of years later when stories were circulating that JBWX-1 had been seen cavorting near Lava Tank and Big Horn with diseasel #19
. . .
Which reminds me — did #19 usually handle the ballast trains on the east end? If so, was it usually strings of just three cars? OTOH, if one of the K-36's did they ever handle more than four cars in one train?
