Riding the narrow gauge – Part 1f

We spent Saturday night at Chama and the following morning, after a quick breakfast, went back to the yard to see if anything was going on. (It did feel strange not being in church, I must admit.) Of course, it is business as usual on Sundays, so there were a fair number of railroaders at work. 484 and 489 were being prepared for a double header up the pass. An interesting activity we witnessed was that after taking coal, the engines were run up to the water tank where the coal was watered down. (Again click on each photo separately for best view.)
