You are correct in that in some previous years 140 KM was the speed limit on the line for those engines, but it was probably in the late 60's or 70-71 when it changed. I believe it was 120 for my trips in 1972, 1974, and 1975. I could be wrong in that perhaps it changed during the periods I was there. I thought I remembered reading about the speed limit changing in "World Steam" and if so that was 1973 or so. They were definitely 120 in 1974 and 1975(When I got the cab ride). Still flying at 72 mph is pretty cool, and listening to that 3-cylinder start from station stops was fun. If I ever got my slides scanned there are a couple of cool images. One is looking out through the front firemans window and seeing an approaching 043 we are meeting.
