Hello once more -
The skies were darkening when the Toltec Rattler arrived at Big Horn late in the afternoon. The switches at both ends of the siding were still in place, so the freight was able to pull around the "chase" train before its engine was wyed
:
After the Rattler was re-assembled with its caboose on the east end and its engine on the west end, the "chase" train was turned around. One of the highlights of the day was meeting #463 at Big Horn
; she's behind diseasel #19 in this view, which pulled her to Cumbres before she was eventually delivered to Chama the following day

For additional photos of the above scene, see the thread started by Dick Bell at [
ngdiscussion.net]. IIRC, John West was hiding behind #484 in this shot. I've added a link to his photo of #19 and #463 to my post on Dick Bell's thread,
op. cit. ibid.
Our last run-by of the day was at the west portal of Toltec Tunnel #2 (aka 'Rock Tunnel'), where there are some fine vantage points for photos. Here's the "chase" train pulled by #484
:
. . . followed by the freight
:
. . . and then #483 poking her nose out of the tunnel for the second time, with a few icicles hanging from the rocks of the portal
