Como Colorado August 16 2017

Work in Como continues. Yesterday (August 16) No. 4's stack was attached and the locomotive and tender coupled together thanks to some help from Camp Como and their backhoes.
Late in the afternoon, a fire was lit in the firebox and a few hours later there was enough steam pressure (20psi) in the boiler to blow the whistle and start chasing leaks in the piping (always a fun game that is played the first time a locomotive is steamed up). Got up to about 100psi before stopping for the day at about 10PM.
On the way to start again this morning after typing this.
Looking like a complete locomotive again. Tim Bain works on the whistle cord while Emily Midyette paints the smokebox latches
After lighting it, Kathy Brantigan and Jerry Huck watch the fire start up
Meanwhile, over at the turntable, the Colorado Summit Construction works on attaching the end wheels.
