No one that I know of, but then I didn't really know too many people of the early summer volunteers, since I didn't get involved until late summer. Many people (100's ?) worked on Saving the Railroad in the months before I arrived, and most of them had to go back to their regular lives after summer vacation was over. Like I said before, I blew off all sense of responsibility, and stayed on until the weather required us to shut down for the winter - and my savings ran out. I was so broke by then that I had to drive all the way back to Detroit on bad u-joints, traveling on back roads and stopping every 50 miles or so to squirt some oil into them!
