If you don't mind a few extra miles - about 15 each way - the Monte Villa Inn in Monte Vista (recommended to me by JBWX) is truly worth the drive. It is a classic hotel built in 1930, renovated but not overly so, with an excellent restaurant. The owners are Italian (he) and german (she), and the food and ambiance reflect their European heritage. Quite reasonable - I paid under $100 total (not including meals and vino) - for two nights a couple of weeks ago, which probably offset the extra gallon of gas used for the commute each day . . .

Manga, manga il raviloi, und auch haben sie gern das Viener Schnitzel!

And I second John's motion: as long as you're there, DON'T MISS the SLRG to La Veta!!
