268, 319 and 345 (renumbered 268 for the movie's headon collision) would have been the locomotives in question. I believe there are still pictures taken by various people during the filming that show at least one of these engines in Silverton. There are also several sequences in the movie which were shot in Silverton. I have no data from later than the time of the filming of "Denver and Rio Grande" that indicates a C class engine in Silverton. Hapilly, that's due to change in the not too distant future.
