They're 4' 8.5" gauge, or, at least, MHRR is.
Mount Hood Railroad has been having a lot of difficulties since the last bit of their line, to Parkdale, washed out last year. It seems that their ridership has dropped off to about half of its earlier levels. I was out there in early July for the visit by Thomas the Bank Engine (for my four-year-olds) and that was really well attended, but their normal runs are apparently not doing so well.
From what I hear, the steam was intended to attract a lot more ridership so that it would cover its additional fuel cost and then some, but the reality is falling short of the projections.
This would be a great opportunity for a foamer who has just hit the lottery!
