I was by the museum yesterday and today doing some research in the library while on a business trip to Colorado and Wyoming. They are all very busy getting ready for the Thomas weekends which are almost sold out. I took a good look at the 346 in the roundhouse and asked a couple of questions. They moved her on compressed air on Tuesday and the only comment that I got was that they needed a couple of adjustments underneath that would have to wait until Thomas left the premises. The only thing that I could see was a couple of paint chips on the bottom of the pilot, and no one seemed to be worried about her condition. Today they had fired up one of the former US Potash diesels and were checking out everything to get ready for Thomas, so no one had much time to talk. Getting ready for Thomas is a full time job for a lot of people, and most of them are volunteers!
