Re: 1993 493 dropping a cut of cars at Cumbres

Thanks for the kind words, Dave.

I have two ways of thought about movies or videos when I am on vacation. First rule is DO NOT LIVE THE EXPERIENCE THROUGH A VIEWFINDER. Many times I set the camcorder at the target and then look out the other eye. I get the full experience. The video is a reminder of what happened and triggers the complete experience. I do not care if the camcorder center does wander off a little (or even if the lettering is "wrong" on a piece of equipment).
On the other hand, I sometimes look for interesting ways to look at an old sight. I thought the shot of the trees with 489 poking out through them and then panning back to show it was nothing but Cumbres wye turned out quite well.
Being interested in "what's over the next hill" sort, I walked the Rockwood wye and found the stub switch. When I rode the goose, I could "see" a neat possibility for filming the use of a stub switch and the operation of the Goose on track that probably looked more like the RGS than most places.
