The Cumbres and Toltec is supposed to be preserving History in a museum fashion. The K-37's were a major part of the D&RGW's last years and earlier when they were standard Gauge and yet nobody really gives a care about them except a few people. There is not one complete example of a K-37 power on the Cumbres and Toltec. 497 is in storage, 492 has its boiler jacket removed and etc.. 494 and 495 are missing running gear and they are labeled Cumbres and Toltec. I am not sure why they are labeled that if they are a museam piece, unless its advertising, but they are not appealing things to look at in there current state.

I know money is a big issues in this but some of it is will power. The locomotives have paint chipped and are labeled with the old Cumbres and Toltec logo instead of the Flying Rio Grande Font. How long has the new logo been around anyways?
I love the Cumbres and Toltec and will continue to love them and if I had the money I would pay to get a K-37 restored and the rest cosmetically restored. Heck I would buy one of the K-37's and display it in my front yard if I could. With the Rio Grande logo or the Cumbres and Toltec logo. I especially appricate all the work the friends are doing they have been the ones who keep all of the non revenue rolling stock going and preserving them for the generations to come. Like me.
