Well, finally! Getting the 346 under steam and running in a few weeks.

It took quite awhile when we first got her under steam. Many thought
it was foolishness on the part of "young kids", but they didn't realize that us young guys did a lot of talking with the older heads both at Burnham & at 7th St. (and other roads) that were real "heavy weights" in the knowledge and experience arenas.
Boy, I still miss those guys, but I'm thankful for all the information they passed on. It was also good to be able to trust that the information they gave was the best they knew. What they saw in us was a few that cared for the trade and were willing to listen and learn. And that kept us from getting too far away from good practice!
We made mistakes to be sure, but the engine (including the rolling stock) ran and pleased many people. Was it perfect, not by a long shot as there was & is always room for improvement.
So, your hard work has paid off. Job well done - done straight & true.
