If you are interested in my home video, I'll post the other sections and you can see how the operations work.
One helper returns to Chama, one remains at Cumbres until there is no need for an emergency loco to go to Osier and then it returns. One loco handles the rest of the run to Osier.
I would like to Thank EVERYONE who has helped on the C&TS - both saving the lint in the 1960's and those who work and have worked the line for the ability to see this in the 1990's and I do believe in the future also.
I only recall three names right now - Earl, John Bush (now of Calif), and Carlos, PLease do not feel I do not thank everyone else for the ability to experience the feel of "big time narrow gauge" (Oxymoron?) mountain railroading.
Only the D&S might be able to put tripple headed mikes in the field. Others might be able to put dissimilar locos in a steam tripple header but a 4% grade is not there. The old GTL might have been able to put three 3-truck shays in a train (that would have sounded awsum).
