Our good friend El Coke has been intimately involved in the restoration of the 315, and has provided some progress reports here. With a project of that sort, obviously nothing is for sure until it happens. The last report seemed to be they were getting close, but the test runs will be the big...well...test.
It is interesting that this historic event is only 81 percent sold according to TUT's website. My guess is that some folks are skeptical about whether it will really happen, and are unwilling to risk the big bucks. TUT has a track record of not always being able to deliver, and prompt refunds have been an occasional issue, but in their defense I have had several excellent trips with TUT.
I must admit to having a fair amount of skepticism, but if this does happen as advertised it will be a very interesting event, and I hope I will be there. I mention this partly because it is a significant ng. event, but has gotten little discussion here. And part of my purpose is to stir up some input form folks like Coke, to help me decide if I should risk the big bucks and make some plans.
