There were Texaco Bulk plants and bulk oil transfer tracks at both Salida and Alamosa where both the single and double dome TCX cars and the CYCX cars (also Texaco) were loaded. (also Montrose) Frequently Texaco shipments to 4th division points went out of Alamosa. Most Texaco shipments over the RGS went only as far west as Dolores. There are a couple of Otto Perry's photos showing TCX cars on Poncha Pass also. CCONOCO was mostly out of the refinery at Farmington. If anyone has any information on when the refinery at Farmington closed, I would be most interested.
As an aside most gasoline traffic ended with the end of WW2. The CONOCO cars were sold toward the end of the war, The CYCX cars went to Hawaii about the same time. It would appear that the CONOCO dealer in Telluride continued to insist that his shipments continue by Rail (this was in UTLX cars) untill 1950. The 10 TCX cars were stored at various locations untill about 1950 when they were taken to Alamosa and disapeared, perhaps rebuilt to standard gauge?
