I suspect either or both boilers were shoved into the wall. There in not enough room for a locomotive to get past them and the rebuilt portion of the wall is aligned with the boilers. These photos, from July 2007, show the damage to the south wall from the oustide as well as from the inside. Also shown is the the rebuilt wall between the machine shop and boiler room, which still has numerous wooden supports and braces after the locomotive punched a hole in it.
