One more suggestion:
Spend a WEEK (5 days) more in Chama and participate in a Freinds of the C&TS volunteer work session. See trains come and go all week long. Squeezed in between the aforementioned schedule, you will not be dissappointed with the comradeship and satisfaction of helping preserve a great piece of American industrial and transportation heritage. And by all means, patronize the local merchants and hoteliers.
