Thanks for the response. There should be some info on the website about the collection. We do need to put together a list of equipment like the Colorado Railroad Museum as well as a track plan.
As far as the track laying goes the tracks will be laid in the old Rio Grande freight yard. This is owned by a company called Rio Grande Yard LLC. The principals of that company are also in the Pueblo Railway Foundation.
Stage One of the track laying will be done this summer. The diamond that Rio Grande switches used to cross into the yard over the former Pueblo Union Depot trackage will be taken out and a switch added. A track will come off this switch into a building at 330 D St. The Patriot will be kept there.
A contractor will build this thanks to a trade out with the Foundation. Stage Two will be done later. This will consist of rebuilding yard trackage.
The tracks that are there now are 1902 85-pound steel, most of which is not suitable for yard trackage. A lot of these are buried in the dirt.
There are two tracks next to the former D&RGW-MoPac freight depot. This is now the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center.
There was talk of putting some of the equipment, including Santa Fe Northern 2912 on these tracks. Nothing is definate yet.
We still plan to restore the 2912 cosmetically. We are searching for grant money for that. Hopefully there will be some left over after DB&W is taken care of.
Restoration costs, insurance and limited trackage rights once the restoration is finished will prevent the 2912 from steaming again.
