Speaking of Caboose movements other than the Park Service inspection train have you seen any pic's of the 0540 going past Chama? I know for a great portion of it's career it was a Durango based caboose. Did the various conductors get to choose there hacks or did they get assigned. I know each one was custom fitted so to speak for it's conductor. I think I have a video showing Punk Blackstone on the 0587 rolling into Carbon Jct. Do you know who else was assigned to any of the cabeese? What I would give to have seen the real narrow gauge in action back in those day's.
