Re: Narrow (3-foot) gauge track equipment

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already contacted most of the manufacturers. There have been quite a few changes, as noted below:
>Plasser American Corp. Chesapeake, VA at 804-543-3526.
Still the same.
>Next try: Kershaw Manuf: at 334-215-1000
They are now Progress Rail - Track Division. I don't know what happened to Knox Kershaw Inc. though.
>And Pandrol Jackson at 616-843-3431.
Pandrol and Jackson are no longer together. It is now Pandrol USA, LP making the fasteners. Harsco Track Technologies acquired Jackson. Harsco also acquired Fairmont Tamper. So Fairmont equipment and Jackson equipment is now made by the same parent company, although they still seem to operate with some distinction still.
>These companies are international dealers with >many accounts in South America with narrow gauge >as a common status. But none of their web sites >specify any narrow gauge in evidence.
But none of them seem to have any 3-foot stuff they are strong in. Fairmont (Harsco) has looked at making a dual gauge tamper, that can be converted. But they are not spending any time on development because no one has ever said they wanted one. There does not seem to be the demand. There is also a bunch of used equipment in Mexico, but trying to track it down is the difficult part.
Thanks for your suggestions.
