We had some real winter this year, and a fairly wet spring. Things nice and green.
So far we've been using #2 diesel (at big $$$) because it's easy to get to (from the diesel locomotive fuel rack). Our supplier is getting specs on some #4 or #5 which should have more btu's and allow us a fire cleaner. We have to be carefull not to get too heavy a fuel as it does get a wee bit chilly around here and you can't run the tank heater on the oil bunker until you have steam. And you can't have steam if you can't get the oil to flow to the burner and ignite..
damned oil burners...
