Re: No interest in diesel powered trains

I disagree about the John Q. Public not caring about whether the Loop train is pulled by diesel or steam.
Some of my neighbors who are lucky enough to get away from the Phoenix heat each summer, talked of being disappointed last summer, and by March and April of this year while planning their summer hiatus were already scratching the Loop and the Georgetown area off of their list. One is a train buff, the others weren't, a couple of them were women. True this is less than half a dozen individuals, but this is only one small retirement community, now muliply it by the others through out the country and the numbers begin to grow.
My dad and mom discovered the Loop by accident two decades ago, when they purposely drove through the big tunnel and saw smoke from a train coming up through the pines. For the next 8 years a ride over the Loop and lunch in Georgetown was one of their planned stops.
No smoke over the trees, and they might never have noticed the Loop. Again multiply the numbers
