Ok, I'll admit it. I was afraid to jump into the cold waters at Blue Mesa Reservoir. This morning I finally got up the courage to plunge into the murky depths. It wasn't quite as bad as I originally thought. The big help here is that the topos still have the Gunnison River charted under the reservoir. Knowing the route of the river and knowing which side of the river the ROW followed made this a simpler task.
Now you will notice that my curves aren't quite as nice along this stretch. I was drawing on the topos which are about 1/4 the resolution of the zoomed in aerials (4 meters vs 1 meter). When you zoom in on the aerial the sharp edges start showing up. Please take this as a crude estimation of the ROW. I think it provides a decent estimate of where the grade used to be.
I hope the map file isn't getting too large to be usable (about 200K now). I'm on a DSL link which seems to work pretty well.
You will probably need to press the refresh button on the browser if you used the map recently, I had to.
