This was about six years before I went to work on the narrow gauge as fireman. My first ride on the n.g. to Silverton was in summer of 1957. I was 14. My dad put me on there to get me out of his hair for the day while he went to a stock sale at the Durango stockyards.
Lots of familiar names here.
I eventually fired for Waterman, Shock, Connor, and I remember other names from Alamosa and Durango both: Cavaliere, Myers, Sisemore, Lyons
Long time ago now.....
