There is a reference in Bob Richardson's NG News in the Sept. 1950 issue about 478 getting is power reverse sometime in the recent past.
The old PFM/United K28 is a pretty good model. I put a micro motor in mine and it runs very well. I made mine into 472 (I modeled the Shavano) and removed the power reverse by replacing it with a piece of brass rod. I should have removed the doghouse and mechanical lubricator for a correct pre-1940 model, but I wasn't that smart/ambitious then.
Uh oh, here we go "modeling" again.
