You need a copy of Sloan's book "A Century + 10 of Narrow Gauge Rolling Stock". It has diagrams for both the KD and KC automatic brake rigging. The 6000s I was looking at in Chama all appear to have KD brakes, same as the 4000 boxcars.
Hard to describe, so I'll leave you to find the book. Good Luck.
