On March 11,1936 an extra left Durango with engines 464 & 375. Noted on the train register under signals displayed - white. The train had a total of 7 loads or 175 tons. The conductor was noted as St Edmister, the engineman as Brill, brakeman was Young and Connor was the fireman. Train departed at 3:30pm. Caboose was No#0501. March 12, 1936 an extra leaves Durango with engines 375 & 459. There were a total of 18 loads or 544 tons. The train departed at 2:15pm. The conductor was Lyons, the enginemen were Katch and V. Cummins. The brakemen were Smith and Bryan and the fireman were Obemch and Hinch. Caboose was 0580. This unusual notation occurs next on March 13, 1936 an extra leaves Durango with engine 462 at 1:55pm. The engine has 10 loads or 263 tons and under the column Handeled is the word "Some". The conductor was Knight and the engineman was Katschals. The brakeman were Hunter and Murray and the fireman was listed as Hinabry. The caboose was listed as 0540. At 2:30PM engine #471 leaves Durango and the conductor is listed as Knight and the engineman as Katsch. This train has 10 loads and 1 empty. Noted under the column "Handled" is the word some. The brakeman and the fireman are the same as the above noted train with engine #462. This appears to be a split train leaving Durango and doing some switching at Carbon Junction and then reforming as one train at Carbon Junction. The omission of the fireman's name on the second train just appears to be a typical error that occurs from time to time. The spelling on some names maybe wrong but its the best I can makeout due to the writing in the log. Most of the trains in this short period were handeled by the following engines, #471, 473, 459, 375 & 462 with most of the work done by either 3471 or 473 followed by 459. Most trains are short between 5 to 10 cars. Any one with any imformation on this time period or if my quess on the split train is correct let me known.
